Our Story
Higher Calling Workshops was born from a shared love of craftsmanship, teaching, and faith. Together, Don and Jane Ann bring decades of experience in woodworking, sculptural art, building science, and design — blending technical mastery with creative expression.
Don’s 30+ years as a master woodworker and educator pair seamlessly with Jane Ann’s sculptural eye and passion for shaping wood into both art and refined functional pieces. What began as individual callings grew into a shared mission: to create and sell handcrafted pieces of beauty and function — and to equip others with the skills, confidence, and faith to do the same.

Meet Don
With more than 30 years of experience, Don has built homes, worked in the forest products industry, and dedicated his life to mastering the craft of woodworking. A passionate teacher at heart, he’s known for turning complex building science into clear, practical knowledge — and he’s just one class away from completing his Masters-level woodworking certification.

Meet Jane Ann
A sculptor and wood carver with a background in art and design, Jane Ann creates both expressive sculptural works and elevated functional pieces. Known for incorporating stone, metal, and bent lamination techniques, she believes everyday objects should be as beautiful as they are useful.
